As the task for the last week,we wrote an essay related to technology.Again one of the tasks of thie week is related to a social network.It's Second Life.It's a three dimensional virtual world created on net.Lots of people over the world use it.Well,why? Why do so many people use SL? There are many answers.But making new friendsall over the world,having fun and improving language skill are three answers of question "why".
Firstly,via SL you can make friends.It's an international network.Everybody can get into this world.Lots ofpeople from different parts of the world use SL.Maybe you don't have a chance to meet new people from other countries,places.But this chance is already in your hand via SL. So you can meet people from different countries,become friends with those people,acquire information about their culture.In this world you can olsa chat, do something, go somewhere,sit in a cafe or club and spend your free time time with your new friends just like you do in your real world.I think no matter it's real or virtual,meeting and making friends are always improtant and nice.
Secondly,SL is a world that gives you a chance to have fun.You can get bored or be fed up with something in real world.You can want to do something different.SL is very place you want.There are many choices for fun.For example,you can go to a club and dance as much as you want.Or you can fly beside walking in order to go somewhere.So you discover the pleasure to fly.Because maybe you will never have a chance to fly.Moreover,you can make some changes on you.You can change your skirt,jean,shoes,color of your eye or hair.But you are taken little time to complete the changes succesfully.For little time your new image and old one are together.And your appareance seems slooby and so funny.This can make you smile.Or you can have fun arranging your own area.And many amusements like these ones...
Thirdly,SL helps you to improve yourself in terms of language skill.As I said before,this virtual world is intenational and English is common language in SL.Especially for us,students of ELT, SL is a chance.Because in that world we speak English while meeting new people chating our friends,working or even making changes on our appareance.For all the instructions are English.So as long as we are in that world we'll improve our English,corect our mistakes,be more active and effective in witing and putting words,sentences together,even learn ew everyday expressions.So the more we us SL, the more we improve urselves in terms of English.
Consequently,SL is a social world that gives us lots of possibilities we have or don't have in real world.So I suppose you to say this world "Hello" and discover the pleasure to be in it as much as possible...:)

CREATE DIFFERENCE !!!
Scientists have been doing research on what are the methods that have influence on learning.One of answers to that question is that what kind of materials teachers use or how teachers teach.Some teachers use technology and technological materials, some use more simple techniques like pen and paper.But there are main differences on using time,creativity and influence of visuality between using technology and using only pen and paper.
First of all,using technology during lessons is a way of using time effectively.When we use technology during lessons,we most probably do our works earlier than usual.We don't spend our whole time by only teaching or learning.We can have time to enjoy when using technology.We can do our homeworks that take us so long time much earlier and quicker.Because information and sources in books are limited.We may not find everything in book.We may have to search in other books,encyclopedias. This means to spend much time.But it's so probable to find everything via technology in earlier time.And rest of time is for us.
Secondly,technology helps us about creativity.Students and teachers using only pen and paper during classes don't go beyond what a book gives to them.So this may make them limited and may not be a helpful way in terms of creativity.They thinks only on the information in book. But when we use technology, we can get so unlimited information ans sources.This means that the more information we get, the more answers we find to our questions.So thanks to lots of sources we can come up with different and creative ideas.We can find creative ways, formulas to our questions.Because various sources can atake us to beyond our limits.
Thirdly,nobody can deny the influence of visuality on learning.There is an expression one of my teachers always says to us and I like very much : " If I read,I understand.If I write,I learn.If I experience ,I don't forget." When we use only pen and paper,we understand and learn.But it doesn't guarantee us not to forget.Because visulity in books is limite.We can not find many pictures or visual materials about our subject. We can not draw subject in our mind thoroughly.But when we use technology,we can find so many images related to subject we learn or teach.We can prepare slides to help us to teach and learn.Visuality has the biggest portion on learning.People don't forget things or information they see ,in other words, they experience.
In conclusion,using technology has more advantages than using only pen and paper about effective teaching and learning.So we had better try to use technology as much as possible during lectures.

IF I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY...
New things or changes in life are good and different.What gives us these different experiences is opportunities.If I have the opportunity to visit a foreign country for two weeks,my choice would be England.My reasons for it are that I'm a student of ELT,that a different country is different life and culture,that a different country means different people.
First of all,I'm a student of ELT.I'm studying English and my choice to learn and speak fluently,effectively is British English.For me,British English sounds better than American English and attracts my interest much more.In my opinion,a foreign language is learned most effectively in the country it is spoken natively.So it is so necessarily and important for me to learn English among English people.It helps me so much to improve myself as effectively as I want.
As to second one,A different country is different life and culture.I mean if I have this opportunity,I would learn much more about British culture and even experience it for a while.For example,

- Punctuality is so valuable for British people.So you should arrive at the exact time specified for meetings,appointments,dinner,etc.
- You should arrive a few minutes early for public meetings,plays,concerts,etc.
- Everyday dress is appropriate for most visits to poeples' homes.But for other events you had better dress more formally.
- Besides,Hugging is only for friends.
- Do not ask personal or intimate questions
- Do not stare at anyone in public,greet people a kiss if you aren't close friends.
- Opening an umbrella in doors,the number thirteen especially Friday the thirteen,putting new shoes on the table are unlucky in their opinion.
- Moreover,I could experience that finding a clover plant with four leaves,catching falling leaves in autumn are lucky.

3 UNKNOWN CHARACTERISTICS ABOUT ME
Everybody has some secrets about themselves.In other words,every person has some characteristics unknown or not realized by others.Like me...People get surprised when they realize some details on my personality they don't know like being crazy about doing shopping,not looking at blood,having habit of eating too much.
I'm so crazy about doing shopping that you can't get it before experiencing it with me. Doing shopping is an important part of my life.It's indispensable for me.I can go shopping every day again and again.I'm never fed up with shopping.But I can't say same thing on behalf of my father.Neither I nor he wants to go shopping together.It's a way for me to get rid of boredom or depression.I can keep looking for what I want for months until I find.I remember that I had looked for the jean I wanted for nearly 3 months until I found.
I'm among people who feel so bad when they look at blood. I can't stand looking at blood even small unimportant cuts.When looking at it, something strange begins to happen inside of me.At that time I feel so bad and even I almost faint.so when I have cut I need my mother or father to care.
I am a person who can eat 5-6 meals in a day. I like eating so much.It's normal for me to eat much in every meal.But there is a contradiction about my this habit.Normally a person who eats much like me gains weight.However,I don't gain weight too much considering how much I eat.I mean my physical appearance doesn't show influence of my eating.When people around me realize or see this reality about me,they get so surprised.
